It is a very big but effective step that changes the role of an e-tutor
from a traditional teacher in his/her functions in online teaching and
learning. Let’s discuss the e-tutor role as instructional designer, Manager and
administrator.
The e-tutor role as
instructional designer
In online teaching and learning, the teacher is the e-tutor here.as an
e-tutor the instructional designer is one of the roles of the teacher in which
he/she has to process the specifications for quality of instructions using
learning and instructional theories.
Also an e-tutor has to
process the analysis of learning needs, Development and also the implementation
of the educational tools among students, and also has to prepare resource
contents which help others to achieve their learning outcomes.
As an instructional
designer, when an e-tutor is to prepare structured content for e-learning at
the same time he or she has to be synchronous or asynchronous completely and
has to deliver it in Blended mode or flipped mode of learning.
The e-tutor role as
Manager and administrator
The e-tutor should also have the skill in Managing and administrating
in ICT classes.
Like how to prepare the
classes online with presentation and the arrangement of lesson contents and
also the sequential ideas, Time management, discussion forum, follow-up
activity with the online learners. Most important in this, he/she has to know
the sufficient knowledge about the working condition of computers and laptops,
smart class and at least the basic ICT tools for teaching learning.
Conclusion
On the whole, an e-tutor should be a well-equipped person to present his
